What is the difference between porcelain and ceramic?
Porcelain is generally white to cream, it is fine grained, and very hard. The edges of pieces will be white and smooth, and the pattern on the edges will largely remain intact after sanding/polishing. Ceramic is coarser grained, and slightly more porous than porcelain. The color or pattern along the edges of the pieces may be removed as a result of sanding/polishing.

Both materials are suitable for making jewelry, and will not be noticeably different with normal handling.
Can I change the chain length of a piece?
Yes! If you have found a piece you love, but the chain is too long or too short, contact info@recerclejewelry.com. Please include the piece name, and the length of chain you would prefer. Depending on the change requested and the design of the piece, there may be an additional fee for the change.
Where do you find your china?
Primarily at thrift stores, garage sales, and antique stores. I look for "orphan" plates which are no longer with a full set of dinner-ware.
What are your chains made of?
I currently use gold and silver plated stainless steel chain. The materials used will always be listed in the item description.
Is wearing broken china safe?
Each piece is sanded so there are no sharp edges, but it is ceramic, and may break when dropped on a hard surface (which is also the case for some traditional jewels). All surfaces which contact skin are glazed, and any un-glazed areas are treated with ceramic sealant to prevent staining.
Do you do custom work?
Yes! If you have china you would like transformed or a custom design request, please contact me at info@recerclejewelry.com. Pricing will vary depending on the request.
